On behalf of the participating Bulletin Board Systems carrying this
echo, welcome to the Wildcat! BBS support conference. This conference is
provided as a cooperative effort by System Operators for product support
via echomail networks worldwide. MSI tech personnel visit here on a
daily basis in an effort to help answer questions.

This is a ''canned'' message broadcast periodically in all support
conferences for the information of participating sysops and callers.

In order to continue providing support in these conferences, we need
everyone's co-operation in making all users aware of the following
guidelines:

Questions which deal with purely administrative matters -- for example
the status of an order, or a question of MSI company policy, cannot be
dealt with effectively in this echo. You are encouraged instead to call
the MSI office at 805-873-2500. The direct line for MSI technical
support is 805-873-2550, and is answered from 9 to 5 Pacific time,
Monday to Friday. Registered and non-registered users of MSI products
are welcome to use this service.

We expect all users posting messages in these conferences to use real
first and last names. Alias names are not permitted. Sysops must ensure
that all messages posted from their systems have proper origin tags
identifying MSI SupportNET, the originating BBS name and location, and
(space permitting) the BBS telephone number.

All discussions should be carried out in a friendly but business-like
fashion. No profanity, no vulgar, insulting or offensive language, or
attacks and disparagement of other products. This includes message
taglines as well as the body of the message.

''Flaming'' and personal attacks against other individuals in this
conference are not allowed. Lively discussion will not be limited, but
your conference hosts draw the line at argumentative or insulting
behavior.

Out of consideration for the many sysops paying long distance charges to
bring these echo conferences to you, we must ask you to refrain from
''forwarding'' or ''carbon copying'' to send multiple copies of a
message. A single public message addressed to ''ALL'' or to ''MSI
SUPPORT'' will be sufficient for the right people to see and respond to
your message.

Each message in this conference should be focused primarily on the
conference topic. For that reason, we may from time to time request that
a particular discussion which has strayed from the conference topic be
moved out of the support echo. MSI has provided an "Off Topic"
conference to continue discussions not related to MSI product support.

It is courteous to quote a few lines of the previous message to maintain
the context of a discussion, but it is inappropriate to quote the entire
message in most instances. Excessive use of quoting utilities and fancy
signatures are strongly discouraged. In addition, ANSI art, ''big
letters'' or pictures are also prohibited in these conferences.

Program authors are encouraged to post information and product
announcements in these echos, so long as those announcements are brief
and to the point, they adhere to the other guidelines of this echo, and
are limited to products relevant to the topic. To be fair to everyone,
please limit these product announcements to no more than one per product
per month.

Moderation should be done only by conference hosts assigned to the
the conferences, and as far as possible will be conducted by private
messages. Callers wishing to point out issues related to moderation or
administrative issues should do so by private message or voice call to
their echo host only.

Users are encouraged to help other users by answering questions when
possible. The presence of MSI tech personnel in this conference is not
intended to limit this user participation, but rather to offer
clarification and additional support when needed. Questions can be
addressed simnply to MSI or MSI SUPPORT, and will be handled by MSI
staff and tech support personnel. MSI Policy questions will be addressed
by Rick Heming, VP Operations.
