  D.EXE 1994

The superfast, colorized, sorted, scrollable directory lister!

How does it work? Just copy D.EXE to any directory listed in your path
statement (such as c:\dos or c:\util, etc.) and then just type:

     D <return>

That's it!

You get a directory listing similar to DIR's wide format, with the difference
that it's sorted by extension (directories first) and filenames with certain
extensions will display in pre-selected colors.

Another difference is that if the listing takes more than a screen page, you
can use the cursor arrow keys, or PgUp, PgDn, and Home and End to navigate
around the listing.

In DOS's version, you can make it show you a page at a time with the /p switch.
But how many times have you wanted to see some file on a "previous page" but
can't because it's scrolled by? Well, you could type "dir /p" again, and
examine each page until you're in the right section.

And finally, DOS's file count is a little strange. It counts subdirectories,
and parent directories as "files." So DOS doesn't give you a true file
count. This utility does.

So, use this utility freely, and distribute it freely. But if you send a buck
(yes, just $1) I'll send you (via email) a version in which you can set the
colors yourself. Let's say you're a programmer and would like to see .h, .c,
.cpp, and .res files highlighted your own special way. Or let's say you do a
lot of wordprocessing, and you would would like certain extensions to display
in a specific color. For a $1, you can have it YOUR WAY!

So, just send $1 and an email address and I'll email a new version to you. Or,
if you prefer US Mail, send $1 and a floppy disk (or a check for $1.50) and
I'll send you back the new version. Send to:
