ZipWhacker For Windows
1994 Howard Quarnstrom, QSystems
---------------------------------

The fast, professional, budget-priced Unzipper for Windows

Installation:
-------------
    1) After self-extraction, copy ZIPWHACK.EXE and ZIPWHACK.HLP to
your directory of choice. File Manager will allow you to
        "drag-and-drop" these files.
    2) Create new File Manager group or switch to the group you want to use. Then
	add the new item.

	To create a new group:
=> From File Manager, choose "File, New"
        => Check "Program Group" button
=> Type in a description for the new group
=> (Optional) Enter a file name that Windows will use to save
information about the new group (Note: The extension will be
supplied by File Manager. If you type it, you MUST use .GRP)
        => Click "OK"

	To create a new item:
=> From File Manager, choose "File, New"
        => Check "Program Item" button
=> Description Box: Type in any name. Will appear under the
	   program's icon.
Example: "Wondrous Little UnZIPer That I Promise to Register" or
	   "ZipWhacker"
           This entry is REQUIRED.
=> Command Line Box: The file name of the program goes here.
Type in the full path name of the program (.EXE file) or
choose "Browse" to "mouse-indicate" the program's location
	   Example: "C:\WINDOWS\ZIPWHACK.EXE"
           This entry is REQUIRED.
=> Working Directory: In this box you can enter a directory that you want
ZipWhacker to "look at first" when Opening a .ZIP file. This directory
will then be the current directory when the Open File dialog is invoked.
The Open dialog box will allow this directory to be changed if need be.
	   This entry is OPTIONAL.
           Example: "C:\WAOL\DOWNLOAD" or "D:\ZIPDUMP"
=> ShortCut Key: Enter any key that you want to be used to start-up
ZipWhacker (In addition to double-clicking on the program icon).
Type in a "Z". Windows will respond by adding a "Cntrl + Alt".
Then, when you want to start ZipWhacker, hold down the Ctrl + Alt keys
and press "Z". ZipWhacker will magically start.
           This entry is OPTIONAL.
        => Click "OK"

    3) ZipWhacker is now installed. See the Q&A's below for more info.

Some of the features of ZipWhacker:
---------------------------------------
An easy-to-learn, fast, professional interface.
Built-in ZIP 2.x file decompression.
Unzip all files or single files from zip archive.
View and unzip self-extract zip files!
Up to 30 ZIP files open at once.
Context sensitive help available at all times (press F1)
Help-mode help available on Main screens.

New This Release:
-----------------
1) Your Unzip-to directory is "remembered" from one session to the next.
2) The maximize status of the .ZIP file window is also saved in the .INI file.
3) The "New Directory" option now allows entry of multiple levels of
new directories. How many levels? DOS only knows.

Q's & A's
---------
Q. Why "ANOTHER WINDOWS UNZIPPER?"
    ----------------------------------
A. Two reasons: I didn't like any of the unzippers out there and many of the routines
used in ZipWhacker were already written for another QSystem program (Disk Librarian).

Q. Why such a cheap price?
    -----------------------
A. Since 70% of it is recycled, a price of $10.00 is fair. (Come on down to the
QSystems lot -- We're having the biggest used algorithm sale ever!!
Good credit, bad credit, no credit at all -- doesn't matter -- this is Shareware --
try it out !!!) Actually, anyone who didn't steal their computer can afford
this price, and if the folks that use it are honest and register, it will be enough
to encourage support and future upgrades.

Q. What do I do with the files I just extracted?
    ---------------------------------------------
A. Copy ZIPWHACK.EXE and ZIPWHACK.HLP to your windows directory. Remove the rest.
Experienced windows users can remove the Help file (perhaps after a review of the
"ZipWhacker Basics" topic and of course printing out the Registration Form).

Q. I am computationally challenged (a computer illiterate) and don't like the program.
    How do I uninstall ZipWhacker?
    ------------------------------
A. Delete "ZIPWHACKER.EXE" AND "ZIPWHACKER.HLP". Also, ZipWhacker makes an entry
into the Registration database when it is first executed, so you should run
the program "REGEDIT.EXE" (comes with Windows/usually in Main Group) to delete
the .ZIP entry. I hope you get better.
